The images in this series inhabit an ambiguous territory, a threshold where documentary record dissolves and is reconfigured through algorithmic mediation. Emerging from a recognizable situation—bodies in celebration, gathered within a collective space, shaped by rituals, adornment, and desire—photography ceases to function solely as testimony and becomes a form of fabulation.
The initial gesture remains photographic: presence, proximity, intuition. A gaze that moves through the density of the crowd, capturing fragments of intimacy amidst excess. Yet it is in post-production, mediated by artificial intelligence, that these images shift from their original status. AI operates here not as a corrective tool, but as an agent of instability, expanding, distorting, and rewriting the surface of the visible.
The result is a kind of sensory hyperreality: light intensifies, textures acquire an almost tactile density, and bodies appear simultaneously more present and more spectral. Time itself seems suspended. We are no longer situated within the captured instant, but within a reconstructed memory—perhaps even a dreamed one.
Within this context, the body assumes a central role. Male bodies, adorned and performative, suspended between strength and vulnerability. Bodies that touch, display themselves, conceal themselves. The kiss emerges as a point of condensation: an intimate gesture unfolding within a public space, traversed by layers of identity, belonging, and desire.
By introducing artificial intelligence into the creative process, the series also challenges conventional notions of authorship and photographic truth. What we are seeing: is it still a document? Or has it become a fiction constructed from reality? Historically associated with evidence, the image here becomes unstable, occupying a field where memory, technology, and imagination continuously contaminate one another.
These photographs do not seek to provide answers. Instead, they expand the question: what does it mean to see—and to believe in—an image today?
